Woolkabunning Kiaka Aboriginal Corporation (WKAC) is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of former Roelands Mission residents and their families, and the broader Aboriginal community particularly disengaged young people and people with disability. There are a number of ways you or your organisation can support by directly investing in our organisation and the specific programs and projects we are operating.

Donations are welcome

The support and generosity from donors makes it possible for us to exist. Woolkabunning Kiaka Aboriginal Corporation needs donations from community, corporate and philanthropic sources to continue work from the Village in support of Stolen Generations people, and young, disengaged people, including those with disability.

Our DGR status means that individuals or organisations can donate through a one-off or recurring tax deductible donation to the Woolkabunning Kiaka Trust Fund. These donations go directly to our social programs.

You can:

  • Make a one-off donation – with a credit card via the telephone, fax or our secure online facility, or by cheque via post.
  • Memorial Giving / Gifts in Lieu – a meaningful alternative to flowers or a birthday gift.

Work Experience and Mentoring

Our RESPECT students and other people working on the site, including young people with disability, are always in need of work experience and good mentoring. Your business may be able to assist. If so, you can contact our partner, the Aboriginal Workforce Development Centre on <number> or Jan Brankovic, WKAC Administration Officer and Outback Academy Local Coordinator on <insert>

Volunteering

Volunteers have kept our doors open and the Village in great condition since WKAC took over the lease for the property in 2014. Your time and skills could benefit our work.

WKAC also runs bi-annual Working Bees where students and other volunteers join us to give the Village a make-over. We would love to see you there. Other volunteers have assisted with running events and programs, even with social business establishment. Become a WKAC Friend or an Ambassador

Promote or encourage support for us with others who may not know about our work. Our programs cover a range of areas and Ambassadors with a passion and experience in a particular area are always welcome. Our current Ambassador Syd Jackson would welcome others with an interest in making sure our organisation and social-healing charters are met and sustainable well into the future.
